TOUR 1 - Stow-on-the-Wold - Broadway - Chipping Campden
Stow-on-the-Wold is a beautiful market town standing at the junction of seven major roads including the Roman Fosseway. It is famous as one of the Cotswolds wool towns which had a large annual sheep fair. Nowadays it is a major local shopping area with antique shops, art galleries and nice pubs and restaurants.
Broadway, to the northwest of Stow and known as the jewel of the Cotswolds because of its beauty and magnificence, it has one of the largest high streets in England. Lined with ancient honey coloured limestone buildings dating back to the 16th century.
Chipping Campden is one the loveliest small towns in the Cotswolds. The main street curves in a shallow arc lined with a succession of ancient houses each grafted to the next but each with its own distinctive embellishments. In 1970 the high street and much of the rest of the town was officially designated a conservation area to preserve the ancient town for centuries to come.
